“Hey, we are Printkultur”

Who?

Find out here…

Nomen est omen. We create (inter alia) valuable print products. We love (nature and) culture.

We are PRINTKULTUR.

We founded PRINTKULTUR to break new ground in visual communication. Away from rigid agency constructs towards fluid creative processes. PRINTKULTUR is committed to create extraordinary printed magazines as well as books and nevertheless we open our eyes to the latest technologies and the possibilities of the digitised world. We are curious explorers amidst a visionary multi disciplinary network… >

Our mother tongue is German, our cultural background is European, our (visual) language is universal.

We learn from the past, we work (for a better) today, we believe in the future.

The idea of a “visual magazine” with a focus on pictures is now well established. As one of the first publications in this genre, VORN debuted in 2004 as a hybrid between a magazine and a book and won numerous awards. VORN took the playful approach to visuality to the extreme. Issue four, for example, was a Claudia Schiffer special, where over 20 artists worked together with the supermodel on the subject Claudia Schiffer. The eighth edition was completely free of text – no headlines, sublines, or articles, no editorial, no imprint. The names of the contributors were only published on the VORN blog. VORN 9 was a silent movie and the first movie magazine ever. It was created by two dozen directors and countless contributors. The film was accompanied by an orchestra that played a specially composed symphony. Over the years, VORN has been a field of experimentation and gave art directors, artists, photographers and other creative people from all over the world the opportunity to design autonomously, without subject specifications and without restrictions and thus to reform the magazine medium. In 2024 we will close the chapter on VORN with a book presenting an annotated retrospective of all the issues, including the 10th edition, as “a magazine in a book”. … >

NEONYT stands for the fashion of the future and sustainable innovation as an internationally oriented global leader. PRINTKULTUR was commissioned to develop the corporate identity for the hub. Not only does fashion change completely from season to season, so does the imagery of campaigns. This is exactly what we aimed for with the development of a we called “ready-to-use campaign” for NEONYT. This new type of visual communication enables a more flexible use of graphic design, typography, photography and illustrations. PRINTKULTUR designed campaigns, brochures and catalogs, the complete trade fair appearances, guidance systems as well as the web and social media presence for NEONYT. The identity of NEONYT is not just about the aesthetic appearance of a brand but also about rethinking fashion. Changing fashion together. … >

SPARTS was founded by PRINTKULTUR as an interdisciplinary arts collective that brings together particularly young creatives and thinkers from a manifold range of disciplines and thus is able to create a special approach to visual communication.
